NAE Establishes Advisory Board

The Netherlands Academy of Engineering has officially established its Advisory Board. The Advisory Board is authorized to provide both solicited and unsolicited advice to the NAE Board on matters including strategy, action plans, stakeholder management, and the fulfillment of its duties as an association.

The Advisory Board is composed of leading experts from various sectors, including academia, business, the start-up and scale-up community, and the engineering field. The members have been carefully selected based on their extensive experience and their ability to offer valuable insights in the areas of technology, innovation, engineering, and the strategic challenges faced by NAE.

With the expertise and network of the board, we can better amplify the voice of the engineering community among key decision-makers and leverage engineering-based innovations to address major societal challenges. We are confident that this collaboration will lead to new insights and strategies.”

 

Members

The Advisory Board consists of:

– Jacolien Eijer – Sustainability Director, TAUW Group, and President, Royal Netherlands Society of Engineers (KIVI)
– Silvia Lenaerts – Rector Magnificus, Eindhoven University of Technology
– Constantijn van Oranje – Special Envoy, Techleap
– Focco Vijselaar – Managing Director, VNO-NCW

The appointment of the members of the Advisory Board is made upon the recommendation of the NAE Board to the General Assembly. Members are appointed for a term of three years, with the possibility of extension. The members of the Advisory Board do not receive any compensation.

The first meeting of the Advisory Board will take place in October 2024, during which they will discuss the key priorities and action points for the coming years.
