News!NAE Appoints 62 Leading Experts
In achieving its goals, NAE relies on the expertise and active participation of its members. NAE Fellows represent the top of the engineering profession, with a passion for engineering-based innovation to overcome many of our societal challenges, and to sustain our country’s earning power within the European and international context. Fellows are committed to make impact within the NAE through their active participation in Forum, Pivot and Advice.
NAE Fellows
NAE brings together a body of Fellows with a diverse background, elected for their prestigious track record of impactful engineering-based innovation, their motivation and ability to make a difference, and for their objective, cross-sectoral, and high integrity attitude. Fellows are outstanding engineers as witnessed by their contributions to innovation, technology transfer and market impact, or technical-scientific foundation.
Examples of innovations are innovative products, equipment, software, buildings and other physical artefacts in which the Fellow played a decisive role in the technical design or construction.
Technology transfer and market impact can be the way in which the Fellow brought artefacts to the market or society in the form of protocols, tools, measurement instruments, design methodology, standards, patents, or spin-offs.
Technical-scientific foundation encompasses ways in which the Fellow scientifically underpinned innovations through foundational applied or constructive research.
NAE Fellows have a high profile in achieving impact with innovations in engineering disciplines in economic topsectors, in societal missions, or in key enabling technologies.
The NAE Board annually invites eligible organizations to submit nominations for candidate NAE Fellows. For more details on the nomination and selection procedure, refer to the Fellows Nomination page.
