Personal data which you provide to the Netherlands Academy of Engineering (NAE) is used by the NAE only for the purpose for which you entitled it to be used for.
How does the NAE handle your personal data?
We collect and store contact details (including name, title, date of birth, gender, home address, telephone number, areas of interest, NAE assignments and email address) and information about NAE Fellows.
We also retain certain e-mail and other written communications we receive, including feedback on our activities, project proposals, elections and other information useful to our operations or our services.
If we receive information from participants in any of our activities, surveys or general enquiries, we retain that information.
We also record information on individuals, including CV or equivalent, relevant to our work on scholarships, awards and elections for the NAE.
Would you like to request a publication? Or receive the NAE e-mail alert? Then we need your personal data, such as your name, e-mail address or residential address. The NAE uses your personal data only for the purpose for which you have given it.
Retention of personal data
The NAE retains personal data no longer than necessary for the purpose for which you have entitled it, all in compliance with the legal deadlines.
Social Media/ External platforms
The NAE uses your personal data only for the purpose for which you have given it. However, for our social media services, we use external platforms, such as Twitter and LinkedIn. We feel it is important to mention that we have no influence on how these platforms handle your personal data. We therefore advise you not to share any privacy-sensitive data via these platforms. These data are thereby not required for our services.
Photography
During NAE meetings, workshops and symposia, (mood) images may be taken, which will be posted on our website, on twitter or in one of our newsletters.
Rights of data subject
If the NAE processes personal data about you, you have a number of rights as a data subject. You can ask the NAE for access to the personal data processed about you, rectification, deletion, restriction, or portability of your personal data. You can also object to processing of your personal data. You can make the request or objection at info@nae.nl
