As a public European science and research organisations, Euro-CASE ,with its members academies, is now invited by Marc Lemaitre, Director-General for Research and Innovation – European Commission, to nominate outstanding candidates for the position of President of the European Research Council – ERC.
You will find attached the letter sent to Eloy Alvarez Pelegry and the statement on the search process and requirements for the next President of the ERC.

To enable Euro-CASE to put forward the candidates you propose, we would be grateful if you could provide us with the following elements for each candidate:
- One or two paragraphs explaining why the proposed candidate meets the requirements and is among the best candidates for the post of ERC President [max. 1 page]
- A curriculum vitae [max. 2 pages], including;

- Relevant professional experience (e.g. universities, scientific institutions, business, government, etc., indicating also any administrative or science policy experience);
- Research interests and experience (indicating the major research projects in which the candidate has been involved);
- A list of the ten most relevant publications and/or other significant works as well as prizes and distinctions awarded [max. 2 pages].
NAE will consider each application and send the nominations to Euro-CASE. After consultation of the Executive Committee, Patrick Maestro will then present each candidate to the European Commission following the procedure indicated.
