System-level steps in the Dutch energy transition

System-level steps in the Dutch energy transition
NAE Expert Meeting
By invitation only, working language: English
The Dutch energy transition increasingly requires choices at the system level. While many individual projects are technically feasible, without coherence they do not automatically result in an affordable, scalable, and secure system solution. On May 28, NAE will organize an expert meeting to establish – based on shared facts and explicit assumptions – a testable framework for an NAE advisory on regionalization as an implementation logic for system-level steps in the Dutch energy transition.
The intended outcome is to generate sufficient system insight to formulate an advisory that:
(i) makes explicit the balance between electrification and molecular energy carriers,
(ii) helps organize investable and socially explainable choices at the regional level,
(iii) addresses the availability of technical and engineering talent as a critical success factor.
