The Federation of Universities of Technology (4TU) is also providing kick-off funding for the first years to NAE. Additional forms of financial or in-kind sponsorships will be solicited, making sure that the independence and objectivity of NAE is guaranteed. justify;\">A precursor organization for the \u00a0Netherlands Academy of Engineering was AcTI, the Academy of Technology and Innovation in the Netherlands. AcTI was funded by companies and knowledge institutes as well as by its members, and did not receive government funding. AcTI will be dissolved in the course of 2023. AcTI offered the possibility of an institutionalized exchange of ideas between its members. As such, AcTI contributed to discussions with the Dutch government and parliament, the business community and their organizations and the knowledge infrastructure in the Netherlands.
